Girish Chandra Dey and other staunch devotees built a temple back in 1897. They had their first puja this year at their friends house, Manik Lal Dey’s house, after they finished constructing the Thanthania Kalibari. For 12 years they carried on with the puja while they worked hard to build an even more awesome puja place which has finally been opened up and is called by believers as “Holy shrine of Sri Thanthania kalibari Janardan puri Pujamela”.
