College Street is located in the central part of the city of Kolkata and Adi Barowari Kali Puja is known to be one of the oldest kali pujas (a festival celebrating Goddess Kali) that takes place here. This particular puja has become one that’s unavoidable during the time of its celebration.Adi Barwari Kali Puja was first started in the year 1858 by honorable respected “Sri Bihari Lal Bose” with some honorable members of his time. This is one of the oldest Kali Puja in Central Kolkata with rich heritage and culture. Every year it attracts thousands of people who come together in joy, sorrow, sadness and happiness. The year 2018 marks the 158th anniversary (the longest running kali pujas) of this particular puja – making it a rather famous one among locals there. This puja started out small but has slowly made its way into many hearts through every passing year and with each new member added to its team.
