Golden Jubilee of the Jagadhatri Puja at Chandannagar. The organizers had hired a local goldsmith Senco Jewelers to make painted decorations made entirely out of real gold and decorated the area around the main altar with them. Some of the ornaments were really quite astonishing, such as one that depicted a deity wrapped in real gold and surrounded by smaller deities who were also covered in various alloyed metals like silver etc. Other ornaments were made up of chains that coiled into motifs and flowers while other decorations were formed using plated silver colored figurines molded with several thicknesses like sheet metal that could be soldered together to produce marvelously detailed kanjis performing holy postures.
