The Durga Puja celebrations at Sovabazar Rajbari is centuries old. “While everybody waited for the goat to be sacrificed, it managed to escape. Surrounded by a roaring crowd, it ran up the stairs and took shelter at the feet of Maa Durga,” narrates Soumit Narayan Deb of Sovabazar Rajbari in north Kolkata.
